Terms of Service
Effective date: October 4, 2025
Legal entity: PlumberHacks.com (“PlumberHacks,” “we,” “us,” “our”)
Service: The website, DIY plumbing guides (“Hacks”), and plumber directory at plumberhacks.com (the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1) Who we are
PlumberHacks publishes DIY plumbing guides and hosts a directory where plumbing businesses can create profiles and consumers can discover them.
2) Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). You’re responsible for your account, credentials, and activity. Keep your account information accurate and up to date.
3) Your content & our license
-
You own your content. Reviews, photos, business details, and other material you submit remain yours.
-
License to us. You grant PlumberHacks a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify for formatting, translate, distribute, and display your content to operate and promote the Service. You represent you have the rights to grant this license.
4) Our content & IP
The Service (design, text, graphics, code, logo) is owned by PlumberHacks or its licensors and protected by U.S. and Nevada law. Except as permitted here, you may not copy, scrape, or create derivative works without permission.
5) Directory listings
Businesses are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of their listings (licenses, claims, offers). We may verify, format, decline, or remove listings that violate these Terms or law.
6) Reviews & community rules
Be truthful and civil. No harassment, hate, illegal content, doxxing, or spam. We may moderate or remove content at our discretion, including to comply with law or protect users.
7) Acceptable use
You agree not to:
-
Violate law or others’ rights, including privacy, publicity, or IP rights.
-
Scrape, bulk-harvest, or access the Service via automated means without consent.
-
Probe or interfere with security, or overload/attack the Service.
-
Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
8) Third-party services
We may link to or integrate third parties (e.g., analytics, payment processors, advertisers). Their terms/policies govern their services. We’re not responsible for them.
9) Payments & promotions (if offered)
If we sell ads, premium listings, or other paid features, additional terms will apply at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable once services begin. Nevada tax may apply.
10) Disclaimers
DIY plumbing involves risk. Use the Hacks at your own risk. Results vary by home, materials, codes, and skill. The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee a guide will resolve your issue or that listed businesses will meet your expectations. Always follow safety guidance and local codes; when in doubt, hire a licensed professional.
11) Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nevada law, PlumberHacks and its owners, employees, and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to use of (or inability to use) the Service or Hacks/Guides, even if advised of the possibility. Our aggregate liability for all claims is limited to the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid to us in the 3 months before the claim.
12) Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PlumberHacks from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
13) Copyright (DMCA)
If you believe content infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: (a) your contact info; (b) the work claimed infringed; (c) specific URL(s); (d) a statement of good-faith belief; (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that you’re authorized; and (f) a physical or electronic signature. We may remove content and, where appropriate, terminate repeat infringers.
14) Suspension/termination
You may stop using the Service any time. We may suspend or terminate access (and remove or refuse content) for any reason, including violations of these Terms or law. Upon termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms end immediately.
15) Governing law & venue — Clark County, Nevada
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflicts of law rules.
A. Dispute resolution & venue (court)
Except as provided in Section 15.B (arbitration option), the exclusive venue for any action arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will be the state courts in Clark County, Nevada, or the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada (Las Vegas), and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
B. Arbitration
At our election or yours, any dispute may instead be resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS or AAA under its consumer rules, held in Clark County, Nevada, before a single neutral arbitrator. No class actions or consolidated proceedings in arbitration. The arbitrator may award individual relief consistent with Nevada law. You can opt out of this arbitration clause within 30 days of first using the Service by emailing [email protected] with “Arbitration Opt-Out,” your name, and the email tied to your account. This clause does not prevent you from bringing qualifying claims in Clark County small-claims court.
16) Nevada-specific notices
-
Professional licensing: Listed businesses are responsible for complying with Nevada licensing requirements (e.g., Nevada State Contractors Board where applicable). We do not guarantee licensing status—verify before you hire.
-
Advertising/paid placements: If listings are sponsored or ranked by paid factors, we will label them as such.
-
Privacy: See our Privacy Policy for Nevada/CCPA-style rights and disclosures.
17) Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms. If changes are material, we’ll provide reasonable notice (e.g., posting on this page or emailing you). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
18) Miscellaneous
-
Severability: If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
-
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
-
Entire agreement: These Terms plus any referenced policies (e.g., Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
-
No waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision isn’t a waiver.
